Introduction


UNITED-NUKE Content Management System was developed with the main goal to make free and open source alternative to PHP-Nuke without well know negative features such as very low speed, bad security and easy to crack authorization scheme, but keep full compatibility so it is possible to use all add-ons (blocks, modules and themes) originally designed for PHP-Nuke.
UNITED-NUKE is released under the terms of GNU General Public License.

History

Around November 2000 we were looking for suitable CMS for our website. After careful consideration we chose the PHP-Nuke system. We decided for this one mainly because the availability of many other add-ons and design templates. However we were not satisfied with the level of elaboration of this system. But basic conseption coresponds with our needs and therefore we started to do some heavy modifications on PHP-Nuke system with the goal to preserve full compatibily.
Gradually our version became considerably defferent from PHP-Nuke and we felt the need to create a development team that will develop and take care of the system and support of users. This leads to the complete overwriting of all codes and the result is one of the best and most expanded open-source CMS in Czech Republic and now even abroad.
